1) Site Purpose Statement
The purpose of the SunShower Weather website is to provide visitors with up to date weather information in a clear and clean manner. We provide the visitors with a way to view weather information on any device they are currently using. Our goal is to provide a website that works for all three of the main sizes of devices such as; phone, tablet, and desktop. We wish to provide the visitor with accurate weather information while still keeping things simple to avoid confusion and frustration on the end of the site visitor. Reliable, easy to understand, and attractive webpages are what visitors want—and that’s just what they’ll get when they visit SunShower Weather.
2) Audience Group Description
Our main audience group will be men and women from the ages of 20-60. These are people who need weather information for all of their needs, whether that be planning a family picnic, going on a road trip, planning what to wear to the soccer game, or wondering what the weather is like in another country. The reasons vary greatly, but our target audience has the same basic needs; they want weather information that is accurate, quick to interpret, and useful. The visitors want the basics, and they want it now. SunShower Weather is here for them every step of the way.
3) Persona
Key Persona: The Caring Mother, Wife
Nicole Colleen is a thirty-eight-year-old wife and mother. She has a husband, who often travels for work, and three children who enjoy the outdoors. Her family often goes camping and it can sometimes be stressful for Nicole to not know what the weather might be on their trip. She also worries about her husband and his travel to and from different states during his work assignments.
If she hears about a storm near where her husband is traveling, she takes it upon herself to make sure she finds out more about it and then relays the information to him so he can be safe while traveling. When it's wintertime and she wants to take the kids to the ski resort, she must travel over an hour to get there. Before leaving, she needs to reassure herself that it's going to be a good day for skiing and that the roads are safe for winter travel.
Nicole needs to have an easy way to access weather information no matter where she is, or what device she is using. She is tired of weather websites that are confusing and cluttered, she just wants the basic information that matters so she can calm her stress when caring for her family.
